CHICAGO (AP)—Tom Ricketts met his wife at Wrigley Field and once lived acrossthe street from the fabled baseball park nestled in a neighborhood on Chicago’sNorth Side.

Now, he and his family own the stadium and the Chicago Cubs. Ricketts callsit a “dream job”—yet he knows managing a sports franchise is all business, too.

The family of billionaire Joe Ricketts, the founder of Omaha, Neb.-based TDAmeritrade, earlier this week closed a deal to buy a 95 percent controllinginterest in the baseball franchise, its storied ballpark and 25 percent ofComcast Sportsnet.

The price tag was steep: $845 million.
