OF Brian Giles signs deal with Dodgers

LOS ANGELES (AP)—Veteran outfielder Brian Giles(notes) has signed a minor leaguecontract with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers said Sunday that Giles has been invited to big league camp.
A career .291 hitter, Giles batted just .191 in 61 games last season withthe San Diego Padres. The 39-year-old Giles did not play after going on thedisabled list June 19 with a bruised right knee.
