Marlins, RHP Nolasco agree on $3.8M deal

FLORIDA (AP)—Right-hander Ricky Nolasco(notes) and the Florida Marlins have agreed toa $3.8 million, one-year contract, a raise of $1.4 million.
Nolasco was 13-9 with a 5.06 ERA last season, down slightly from his 15-8record in 2008. He missed a large part of 2007 because of elbow inflammation.
In four seasons with the Marlins, Nolasco is 40-30 with a 4.43 ERA.
Seven Marlins remain eligible to file for arbitration next month: secondbaseman Dan Uggla(notes); first baseman Jorge Cantu(notes); outfielder Cody Ross(notes);right-handers Anibal Sanchez(notes), Josh Johnson(notes) and Leo Nunez(notes); and left-hander RenyelPinto(notes).
