Hamilton scratched from intrasquad game

SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP)—Outfielder Josh Hamilton(notes) has been scratched from theTexas Rangers’ initial intrasquad game with a bruised left shoulder.
Hamilton had been scheduled to play left and bat third during Monday’sintrasquad game. Rangers manager Ron Washington says he is not concerned aboutthe injury at this point, but would be if it keeps Hamilton out for “anotherfor or five days.”
Hamilton bruised his shoulder Thursday in the Rangers first full squadworkout when he fell while running after a pop-up during a fly ball drill.Hamilton returned on Saturday, but did not participate in the rain-shortenedSunday session.
Hamilton was limited to 89 games last year because of injuries.
