Cardinals end 5-game skid, beat Reds 3-2
ST. LOUIS (AP)—Rookie Jaime Garcia(notes) beat the Reds for the fourth time, haltingthe St. Louis Cardinals’ five-game losing streak and ending Cincinnati’sfour-game run in a 3-2 victory on Friday night.
St. Louis scored in consecutive innings for the first time in seven games,getting two in the first and one in the second. Jon Jay(notes) had an RBI triple andAlbert Pujols(notes) followed with a sacrifice fly in the first, and Brendan Ryan(notes)singled, went to third on Garcia’s double and scored on Skip Schumaker’s(notes)groundout in the second.
