Brewers claim RHP Estrada from Nationals

MILWAUKEE (AP)—The Brewers have claimed right-hander Marco Estrada(notes) off waiversfrom Washington.
The 26-year-old has pitched in parts of the last two seasons for Washington,going 0-1 with a 6.14 ERA in one start and three relief appearances last year.He was drafted by the Nationals in the sixth round in 2005.
To make room for Estrada, the team designated right-hander Tim Dillard(notes) forassignment. Also Wednesday, right-hander Chris Smith(notes) accepted an outrightassignment to Triple-A Nashville.
Smith appeared in 35 games as a reliever last season, finishing without adecision and a 4.11 ERA. He will be invited to big league spring training as anon-roster player.
